Back in action
AGL, Australia's largest integrated renewable energy company, believes in supporting the community. In 2008, they responded to the public call from the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) for Victorians to 'Help Audrey Skip Again'. Together with the Heritage Council of Victoria, the Melbourne Restoration Fund and public donations, AGL has helped to get our Skipping Girl back into action and skipping again.
In March 2009, Little Audrey was removed from her lofty perch in Victoria St, Abbotsford and spent three months in the workshop being restored. Little Audrey has undergone structural repairs on her frame and significant work has been done on her electrics and neon tubing. She has been polished up and in June 2009 she returned to Melbourne’s skyline and is skipping brightly.
Skipping all day and night takes a lot of energy. AGL, who recently helped restore Little Audrey and provides 100% Renewable GreenPower energy, are now giving her the gift of solar power in her 75th year, so she can keep on skipping on sunshine. Now that's energy in action.
